As a valued volunteer, your contribution is essential to the success of the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games. To help you perform your role to the highest standard, we’ve outlined a few important do’s and don’ts. These guidelines will ensure a safe, professional, and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
Be Punctual: Your role as a volunteer is extremely important for ensuring the events run smoothly and correctly. Please commit to your shift and on time.
Wear Your Uniform & Accreditation: Always wear your uniform and accreditation. When wearing your uniform, you are representing the entire Games. Wear it with pride and respect.
Be Friendly and Professional: Greet athletes, spectators, staff and fellow volunteers with a positive and respectful attitude.
Promote Inclusivity: Create a welcoming and accessible environment for all.
Respect Everyone: Treat all staff, athletes and spectators with kindness and respect.
Stay Informed: Stay up to date with shift times, transport times, and updates throughout the Games.
Follow Instructions: Always listen and follow instructions provided by your supervisor and obey the rules set out by the Organization and the German Government.
Take Time to Rest: Make sure that you relax whenever you have breaks. You will receive a meal in your shift break – make sure to eat well and stay properly hydrated.
Don’t Miss Your Shift: If you are unable to attend, notify the volunteer management staff as early as possible.
Don’t Share Confidential Information: Refrain from sharing information provided to you by the Volunteer team as well as avoid sharing your accreditation online.
Don’t Use Your Phone Excessively: Avoid using your private phone during shifts.
Don’t Wear Unauthorized Clothing: During your shift, you are only allowed to wear your uniform. The uniform must be worn before arriving at the venue and until the end of your shift.
Don’t Consume Alcohol or Drugs: The use, possession, or distribution of drugs and alcohol during shifts or in your volunteer uniform is strictly forbidden. We will have a volunteer thank you event where we can celebrate.
Smoking is Not Allowed While On Shift: Outside of your shifts, make sure to only smoke in the designated smoking areas.
Don’t Solicit Autographs or Photos: All volunteers should always maintain professionalism around athletes and officials.
Don’t put yourself at risk: Avoid putting yourself into a harmful situation. Protect your health and wellbeing.
