Kim Bui as Official Ambassador of Rhine-Ruhr 2025

When it comes to international multi-sport events, Kim Bui knows what she’s talking about. The former elite gymnast competed in three Olympic Games and was part of the German national team for over 15 years. In 2013 and 2017, she herself took part in the FISU World University Games (then still known as the Universiade). Today, she passionately supports the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games as an ambassador, using her voice to advocate for sports, personal development, and education.

Kim Bui is deeply committed to issues surrounding mental health and publicly speaks out against the pressure in elite sports. Last year, she was elected to the Athletes’ Commission of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) – a significant step in her efforts to represent athletes worldwide. As a dedicated advocate for athletes, Kim Bui has become an important voice in international sports.

As a long-time top-level athlete, she serves as a role model for many young athletes, offering not only athletic expertise but also important input on mental health. Kim Bui will also contribute to the 2025 FISU World Conference, which will take place in parallel with the Games in Bochum.

“I’m very excited to be part of Rhine-Ruhr 2025 as an ambassador and to share my experiences from elite sports. The connection between sport, education, and culture is something truly special,” says Kim Bui.
